Zǒulù Shàngxué Theme Song
Today I especially recorded the theme song for a new movie made by my good friend Yu Rongguang called Zǒulù Shàngxué (On the Road to School). I recorded this song because the main theme of the story is based on children.
In some poor areas in Nujiangzhou, there are students who have to cross rope bridges or travel on zip-lines in order to get to school. The concept of this film is based on a story from Maji Village in Fugong County and talks about the 400 “flying children” who fly across the river using ropes to attend school. Yu Rongguang is the producer and I agreed to sing the theme song for this movie. Yu Rongguang was very caring and thoughtful – he made the film in the area where the story is based and used RMB $400,000 (USD $58,400) to build a new bridge for the people to use.
As the first film produced in China based on a story about children and public welfare, this film doesn’t use misery or suffering as a gimmick to draw attention and it doesn’t seek novel ideas to use as the selling point. The film tries to portray the positive attitude, optimistic spirit, and the qualities of strength and courage when human beings are faced with hardships and difficult challenges. The story is told from a child’s point of view and explains things like survival, education, development, and other amazing topics about life. This film offers an opportunity for the disoriented young people and adults in today’s materialistic society to reflect on their own situations, question their consciences, and use the story as food for thought.
Hopefully when this film is released in theaters, people will pay more attention to the needs of the poor and impoverished children.

《走路上学》主题曲：
今天我特别为好朋友于荣光的新戏《走路上学》唱主题曲，原因是这部戏是以儿童为主题。
原来中国怒江州部份贫困地区学生过溜索上学的或者是坐吊篮。影片取材于福贡县马吉乡400多名飞子‘飞索渡江求学’的故事，我答应担纲影片主题歌演唱，而于荣光刚当监制。于荣光很有心的到那里拍戏，用四十万搭建了一条桥让他们使用。
作为国内首部公益题材儿童故事片，该片不以苦难为噱头、不以猎奇为卖点，而是着力刻画人类在苦难面前的坚韧、积极、向上的精神物质，着眼于以儿童视角诠释生存、教育、发展等宏大命题，为迷失于当今浮躁社会的青少年及成人提供一个反躬自问、发人深省的样本。
希望这部电影上映以后，有更多人关注贫困儿童的需要。
